JOIN US FOR A HALOWEEN PARTY IN AID OF CUBA – 100% PROFITS DONATED TO MAREAS & TRANSLUCIDOS
Queer Salsa is fundraising with MAREAS, a family-run, grassroots mutual-aid project led by two generations of Cuban women based in London. MAREAS acts as a logistical bridge between the diaspora with trusted community networks in Cuba - helping get funds, medicines and essential supplies to where they're needed.
Cuba is currently facing a deepening economic and energy crisis: shortages of food, medicine and fuel, rising living costs, and prolonged blackouts that disrupt everyday life and access to basic services.
For this fundraiser, MAREAS is working directly with Translúcidos, a trans-led mutual-aid network providing material, health, wellbeing and financial support to Cuba's trans and gender-nonconforming community, adapting as needs change on the ground.
100% of proceeds from the night will go directly to this work.

Our commitment is to build safer, more joyous, and connected spaces for queer people and allies. Afro-Latin dance is a living, liberatory practice, rooted in the resistance, creativity and collective strength of the communities who created it, and we believe it's one of the most powerful ways to build queer community.
We are registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC), a legal structure designed for organisations to benefit their community rather than generate private profit. As a CIC, we are required to reinvest any surplus back into the organisation and report our activities publicly each year. It is a structure that formalises our commitment to our community.
